The Canadian Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CCUWiP) is a three-day national conference for undergraduate students studying physics or related majors. Modeled after the APS Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics, the primary goal of the CCUWiP is to help undergraduate women continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about graduate school and professions in physics, and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas.
The first CCUWiP was held in 2014 at McGill University. It is held in different locations in Canada each year (see below), with the next year’s location decided through a vote by delegates attending the current conference on bids submitted to host the next one.
The 2018 CCUWiP will be held January 12-14 at Queen’s University in Kingston. It will include research talks, panel discussions about graduate school and careers in physics, workshops and discussions about women in physics, student research talks, poster session, and laboratory tours. The CCUWiP is proudly partnered with the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) and the American Physical Society (APS).
