A.W. Peet is a physics professor at the University of Toronto under the department of Physics, with a focus in the theoretical high-energy physics. Peet obtained their PhD at Stanford University in 1994, followed by two postdoctoral positions at Princeton University and the Institute for Theoretical Physics in the US. They then joined the University of Toronto in 2000 as a professor until present. Their research interest is mainly in theoretical subatomic physics, such as string theory as a theory of quantum gravity and applications of string theory to black holes and gauge theories. They are also an Affiliate of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo and a member of the Canadian Association of Physicists and the Canadian Institute for Particle Physics.
