Sarah Rauscher is a computational biophysicist and currently a professor at University of Toronto Mississauga. She obtained her PhD in University of Toronto and then did a postdoctoral fellowship at Germany’s Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry. Joining UTM in 2017, Rauscher and her team have been working on problems in computational biophysics with a focus on intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs). This includes conducting large-scale computer simulations of proteins with no specific structure to hopefully understand the role these proteins interact in diseases such as cancer, HIV and Alzheimer’s.
